Introduction

Throughout the message, he repeatedly emphasized that poverty begins in the mind before it manifests in one’s circumstances, declaring, “Poverty is a psychological attack on the human race.”
God’s Original Design Is Productivity and Dominion
Drawing from Genesis 1:26-28, Pastor Adefarasin explained that God’s first command to humanity was not merely survival but productivity. Humanity was created to be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and exercise dominion over creation. He noted that dominion is impossible without productivity and that believers must intentionally create value that benefits others and glorifies God.
According to him, God’s blessing equips His people to steward significant resources for kingdom purposes rather than merely pursuing personal prosperity.
Poverty Begins with a Mindset
A major emphasis of the sermon was the need for a renewed mind. Pastor Adefarasin argued that Satan’s greatest strategy is convincing believers that lack is their reality while distracting them from God’s abundant provision. Referring to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, he explained that Eve shifted her attention from God’s abundance to the one thing she could not have.
He urged believers to imitate God’s perspective by focusing on opportunities rather than limitations, saying, “Stop looking at what you don’t have. Look at the abundance that is available.”
Mass Productivity Defeats the Enemy’s Destruction
Pastor Adefarasin described productivity as God’s answer to the enemy’s destructive agenda. He declared, “God’s plan for you is to counterattack the enemy’s weapons of mass destruction with God’s system of mass productivity.” He encouraged Christians to become problem-solvers who create value for society, noting that wealth naturally follows those who consistently solve significant problems for many people.
Using biblical examples such as Elisha’s servant and David confronting Goliath, he illustrated that victory always begins with seeing life from God’s perspective rather than through fear or limitation.
The Church Must Steward Wealth for Kingdom Transformation
The preacher further stressed that God’s desire is for the Church to steward substantial wealth responsibly in order to establish His covenant, transform communities, and contribute meaningfully to national development.
He expressed confidence that Africa possesses tremendous God-given potential and challenged believers to become catalysts for innovation, productivity, and righteous leadership across the continent. He concluded by encouraging the congregation to continually renew their minds, declaring, “Do an inventory… and change your mindset to accept abundance as God’s plan.”
