ACCRA, Ghana — Pastor Mensa Otabil, Founder and General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), officially declared the end of the denomination’s annual 40 Days of Power and launched the five-day Greater Works 2026 Conference during the opening night service on Monday, August 3, 2026, at the Arena of ICGC Christ Temple East (CTE), Teshie-Accra.
Addressing thousands of worshippers, Pastor Otabil reflected on the spiritual journey that began on June 25 with prayer and fasting, thanking God for sustaining believers through the season.
“Today is officially the end of our 40 Days of Power… Let us thank God that we were able to start and to finish. We give God praise for giving us the grace to wait upon Him,” he said.
He commended members who participated faithfully in the daily prayers and fasting, praying that they would experience God’s faithfulness.
“May He who hears in secret answer us publicly for all to know that we serve a God who hears prayer and answers prayer,” Pastor Otabil declared.
With a joyful announcement, he brought the annual prayer season to a close.
“It is my joy… to declare the end of 40 Days of Power. You may now eat,” he said, drawing warm applause from the congregation.
He immediately ushered the church into the new conference season.
“With greater joy, I declare the beginning of these five days of Greater Works. May the Lord do great works amongst us, and for all the prayers we prayed in these 40 days, may the Lord answer each one of us.”
Pastor Otabil noted that his opening-night message would draw inspiration from ICGC’s 2026 theme, “Kingdom,” explaining that although his sermon would not focus directly on the theme, it would be “adjacent” to its central message.
Greater Works 2026 continues throughout the week with Bible teaching, worship, and ministry sessions featuring Pastor Mensa Otabil and other internationally respected guest speakers.
