ACCRA, Ghana — Pastor Mensa Otabil, Founder and General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), has attributed the longevity and impact of his ministry not to extraordinary talent but to unwavering focus and consistency.
Speaking during the Day 4 Morning Session of the Greater Works Conference 2026 on Thursday, 6 August, Pastor Otabil encouraged believers to pursue steady growth instead of constantly chasing new opportunities.
“I like consistency. And I like to focus,” he told the congregation. “I’m not an extraordinary person. I don’t have many gifts. My gift is focus and consistency.”
The renowned Bible teacher explained that persistence, continuous learning, and disciplined commitment have shaped both his ministry and personal life. “Life doesn’t come easy, but if you focus and you’re consistent, you get somewhere. You can move mountains, you can shift the direction of your life, and you can turn things around with focus and consistency,” he said.
Pastor Otabil cautioned against abandoning worthwhile pursuits too quickly, noting that repeatedly starting over drains valuable energy. Instead, he urged believers to remain committed and build lasting momentum over time.
Commending guest minister Bishop Tudor Bismark, Pastor Otabil described him as a living example of the same principles. “Pastor Bishop Bismark is one of my focus and consistency people. He always brings us value and he’s always a blessing,” he remarked.
His message reinforced the conference’s emphasis on intentional growth, faithful stewardship, and enduring commitment in ministry and everyday life.
