Archbishop Charles Agyinasare, founder of Perez Chapel International and President of the Bible Society of Ghana, has strongly condemned domestic violence among Christian ministers, insisting that pastors must demonstrate exemplary character in their marriages and family relationships.
Speaking at Manifestation 2026, hosted by Prosperity City Chapel International on Thursday, October 8, 2026, the renowned Ghanaian preacher addressed marital faithfulness, pastoral accountability and biblical qualifications for ministry.
Referring to 1 Timothy 3:1–8, he emphasised that Christian leadership requires integrity, self-control and an honourable reputation.
“If you are a pastor that beats your wife, you are a cheap man,” he declared.
Drawing from his 41 years of marriage, Agyinasare told the congregation that he had never physically assaulted or insulted his wife.
“Never hit my wife. Never insulted her. No. She is too valuable to be insulted,” he stated.
He encouraged husbands to honour their wives through affection, respectful communication and practical expressions of love.
“Cherish your wife. Speak well to her. Appreciate her. Celebrate her,” he urged.
The Archbishop further challenged ministers to recognise that their behaviour at home directly influences their children and congregations.
His message underscored that spiritual authority must never become an excuse for mistreatment, intimidation or violence within Christian families.
