OBUASI, GHANA — Bishop Gideon Titi-Ofei has delivered a passionate appeal for renewed evangelism, challenging pastors, church leaders and ordinary Christians to make winning souls a central priority of their faith.
Addressing participants during the opening evening session of the Work for the Lord conference in Obuasi, Ghana, the bishop expressed concern about declining personal evangelism among believers.
“At the heart of working for God is evangelism,” he declared.
He questioned why some church leaders could spend years in ministry without personally leading anyone to faith in Jesus Christ.
“If your work does not bring souls to Jesus, you have done nothing,” he stated, underscoring the importance he places on evangelistic fruitfulness.
Recalling his conversion at age 14, Bishop Titi-Ofei described how he began sharing the gospel in communities around Adabraka, Accra, motivated by his love for Christ.
“The real sign that you love Jesus is that you talk about him,” he explained.
He encouraged Christians to demonstrate their faith through both personal witness and godly conduct, stressing that evangelism should flow naturally from genuine love for Jesus.
The message challenged the global church to recover its evangelistic passion and commitment to the Great Commission.
