The Day Two evening revival rally of the 2026 World Assemblies of God Congress at the Accra Sports Stadium erupted in passionate worship, powerful preaching and fervent prayers as Christian leaders challenged believers to embrace the Holy Spirit and accelerate global evangelism.
The service opened with energetic praise and exhortations to expect divine encounters, followed by a stirring ministration from the 500-member Philharmonic Choir.
American worship minister Rev. Angela Donadio subsequently led the congregation in heartfelt worship, preparing the atmosphere for two major sermons.
Introduced by Rev. Dominic Yeo of Singapore, Rev. Glyn Barrett, leader of Assemblies of God Great Britain, preached from Matthew 5 and Acts 1, challenging Christians to move beyond religious activities into Spirit-empowered living.
“The Holy Spirit doesn’t just make you better. He makes you holy,” Barrett declared, emphasising purity, boldness, evangelism, healing and divine calling.
He concluded with prayers for renewed Pentecostal power.
Former Malawian President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and his wife were also publicly welcomed before a special offering was received to support the congress.
International gospel singer Sinach then electrified the stadium with exuberant praise and worship, leading thousands in songs celebrating victory, gratitude and God’s greatness.
The second preacher, Bishop Dag Heward-Mills, delivered an urgent missionary appeal from John 3:17, warning against complacency and calling for faster evangelism, renewed sacrifice and greater opportunities for young ministers.
“We have to send missionaries again,” he declared, urging churches to prioritise soul-winning over institutional achievements.
His message culminated in an intense altar response, with participants surrendering themselves afresh to God’s missionary assignment.
The evening concluded with closing exhortations, prayers and announcements concerning the congress’s final-day activities, including Holy Communion and the anticipated participation of Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama.
