LIVING OUR BIBLE I GLOBAL NEWS
Historic gathering in Accra unites believers from across the world as church leaders champion prayer, evangelism, spiritual renewal and the MM33 global mission.
ACCRA, GHANA — October 15, 2026: The World Assemblies of God Fellowship has made history as Ghana becomes the first African nation to host its World Congress, bringing together international church leaders, pastors and believers for a landmark gathering from October 14–16, 2026.
The congress features leadership sessions at Black Star Square and evening revival rallies at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Worship, Prayer and Global Unity
The opening evening rally featured vibrant praise, worship and thanksgiving, with participants celebrating God’s faithfulness through songs, including the Ghanaian expression “Medawase,” meaning “Thank you.”
Representatives from different nations gathered in a spirit of Christian unity, setting the atmosphere for preaching, prayer and spiritual renewal.
One Million Churches by 2033
A major focus was the MM33 initiative, which seeks to establish one million Assemblies of God churches worldwide by 2033.
Pastor Dominic Yeo highlighted the movement’s transition from awareness to adoption, declaring: “We are moving to the phase of adoption.”
The initiative builds on a vision introduced by the late Dr. George Wood in 2017, emphasising evangelism, discipleship, missions and global church expansion.
A Call to Return to Prayer
During the evening preaching session, Ghana’s General Superintendent challenged Christians to rediscover the spiritual foundations of the early church.
“Prayer is the spiritual oxygen of the church,” he declared.
Preaching from Acts 3, he urged believers to prioritise Jesus Christ, sound doctrine, supernatural faith and compassionate ministry.
“The wheels of the gospel is prayer. We cannot save the world without prayer,” he emphasised.
The message concluded with corporate prayers for revival, healing, spiritual breakthroughs and the evangelisation of unreached nations.
The congress continues through October 16, reinforcing its global mission of proclaiming Jesus Christ to every nation.
The report above covers the principal opening-night developments. The transcript also records an appeal for generous giving, followed by an extended worship ministration and prayers invoking the Holy Spirit. These formed the closing portion of the available recording.
