ACCRA, GHANA — October 14, 2026. History was made at the Accra International Conference Centre on Wednesday as the World Assemblies of God Fellowship opened its 10th Triennial World Congress, the first to be hosted on African soil.
The three-day gathering, themed “Commissioned: One Mandate, Every Nation,” brought together more than 10,000 participants, including international church leaders, government officials and delegates from across the world.
President John Dramani Mahama, accompanied by First Lady Lordina Mahama, attended alongside former Malawian President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and his wife, Monica.
The opening featured Ghanaian cultural performances, the national anthem and worship led by gospel musician Joe Mettle.
Welcoming delegates, Assemblies of God Ghana General Superintendent Rev. Stephen Wengam celebrated the historic occasion and acknowledged the organisers, volunteers and government institutions supporting the congress.
Global Chairman Rev. Dominic Yeo challenged the church to intensify evangelism and missionary expansion.
