OBUASI, GHANA | LOB CHURCH NEWS
OBUASI, GHANA — Bishop Gideon Titi-Ofei has challenged Christian pastors to take greater responsibility for the spiritual maturity of their congregations, emphasising that the quality of preaching directly influences the character and commitment of church members.
Speaking during the evening session of Work for the Lord – Day 2, Obuasi Edition, on Friday, October 16, 2026, he stressed the importance of sound biblical teaching in shaping Christian behaviour.
“Congregation members are a reflection of your sermons. They are a reflection of what they hear from the pulpit,” he declared.
Reflecting on his spiritual upbringing, Bishop Titi-Ofei credited the teachings of his pastors for helping to establish his Christian convictions and ministerial discipline.
“What my pastors taught me is what made me,” he stated.
He further questioned whether churches that consistently emphasise material prosperity over biblical discipleship are adequately preparing believers for genuine Christian service.
The bishop encouraged ministers to invest significant time in sermon preparation and provide congregations with substantial biblical instruction.
He also highlighted the importance of perseverance, prayer and devotion in nurturing spiritually mature Christians.
His message served as a call for pastors worldwide to evaluate not merely the numerical growth of their congregations but also the spiritual quality of the believers entrusted to their care.
