ACCRA, GHANA — The Day Three morning session of the 2026 World Assemblies of God Congress unfolded with powerful worship, Holy Communion, heartfelt intercession for persecuted Christians and renewed calls for global evangelism at the Accra International Conference Centre.
The gathering opened with energetic praise led by the Congress Mass Choir, as delegates celebrated God’s power and proclaimed, “Revival is here!”
Rev. Doug Clay, General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God USA, subsequently led a moving Communion service, challenging Christian leaders to embrace unity, remember Christ’s sacrifice, examine their motives and anticipate His return.
“I never want to become an expert in doing ministry and only an amateur in following Jesus Christ,” he declared.
Drawing from 1 Corinthians 11, Clay also led delegates in prayers for believers suffering persecution and conflict worldwide. Worshippers later shared the bread and cup, accompanied by heartfelt songs celebrating Christ’s blood and saving grace.
The atmosphere intensified during continental intercession.
Representing Europe, a German Assemblies of God leader urged renewed missionary commitment, declaring, “We need Jesus back in Europe.”
Missionary Dick Brogden delivered an emotional Middle East report, highlighting church growth despite persecution.
“The church of the Middle East still stands,” he proclaimed, recounting testimonies of suffering believers and appealing for greater missionary support.
Prayers followed for North America, the Caribbean and African missionaries serving overseas, reinforcing the responsibility of churches to reach unreached communities.
The session subsequently featured discussions on the MM33 vision, highlighting church health, church planting, missions and next-generation leadership as essential pillars for reaching one million churches by 2033.
Delegates were challenged to strengthen local congregations, develop emerging leaders and pursue worldwide evangelism.
The morning reinforced the Congress’s message of unity, sacrifice and global mission.
