President of The Apostolic Church-Ghana, Apostle Dr. Aaron Ami-Narh, has raised concerns about the gap between Christian profession and transformed living, calling the Church to return to genuine repentance, discipleship and spiritual growth.

Speaking during the launch of his book, Why Believers Struggle, Apostle Ami-Narh said many Christians profess the promises of Christ but struggle to experience them practically.

“We say the things, but we are unable to do them,” he observed. “They confess it, they declare it, but they are not able to live it.”

According to him, the situation has become a burden because Christ has provided believers with the grace needed to live transformed lives. “I hate to see people struggle in something that I believe God has made provisions for,” he said.

Churches Growing Outward, Believers Not Growing Inside

Apostle Ami-Narh stressed that the answer is not necessarily another new revelation but a return to foundational Christian truths such as repentance, surrender, obedience and discipleship.

“There is liberty in Christ,” he declared, recounting his own past struggles with sin, guilt, prayer and fasting. “I have struggled with sin. I know how it is like… And I know what God has taught me, and it’s not a struggle anymore.”

He argued that believers must move beyond conversion into maturity, describing the Christian life as a continual walk with Christ.

“As you walk with Him, you discover; you possess,” he said, warning that spiritual inheritance requires growth. “If you fail to grow, you won’t inherit.”

The Apostle also challenged churches to examine whether their programmes are actually producing mature disciples.

“We’ve gotten so used to doing church the way we do church without asking, ‘Where is this taking us?’” he said.

His conclusion was striking: “This generation, we have a lot of church activities but very little spiritual productivity.”
