Introduction

Kingdom Maturity Requires Growth

“There are those who are wise and those who are foolish. The wise carry oil because, by reason of use, they have exercised their senses to discern both good and evil,” he said.
According to him, believers must intentionally develop spiritually instead of remaining stagnant. Christianity, especially in Africa, requires mature disciples capable of carrying the weight of God’s Kingdom.
The Oil Represents God’s Anointing and Responsibility
One of the central themes of the sermon was the symbolism of oil throughout Scripture. From David’s anointing to Elijah, Elisha, and ultimately Jesus Christ, Bishop Bismark showed that oil represents God’s anointing, authority, and divine assignment.
He challenged believers to protect the anointing God has entrusted to them.
“Let’s always ensure that the anointing—the oil that we carry—is never compromised.”
Using the story of the widow’s oil in 2 Kings, he reminded the congregation that everyone possesses something valuable that God can multiply.
“No one in this room can say you have nothing in the house. Everyone has been endowed with some oil, some anointing, some gift, some strength.”
Faithful Stewardship Leads to Greater Increase
Bishop Bismark stressed that Kingdom growth requires responsible stewardship. Drawing from practical life examples, he taught that favour, opportunities, and resources must be managed carefully.
He encouraged believers to “have skin in the game” by taking ownership of their responsibilities instead of treating God’s blessings casually. He also urged Christians to embrace patience, mentorship, and intentional leadership so the next generation can faithfully carry the Kingdom forward.
It Is Time for Strong Meat
Throughout the message, Bishop Bismark repeatedly called the Church to deeper biblical teaching instead of remaining satisfied with shallow Christianity.
“It’s time for strong meat and not baby messages.”
He urged believers to pursue wisdom, understanding, excellence, and disciplined decision-making, declaring that God’s people are called to influence nations through mature Kingdom leadership rather than emotional or superficial faith.
