Nigerian minister and Founder of Dominion City Church Global, Dr. David Ogbueli, has challenged Christians to place divine purpose ahead of financial prosperity, declaring that genuine kingdom wealth begins with understanding God’s agenda.
Speaking at the Next Level Conference 2026 on the theme Abraham’s Business Models, he explained that God’s covenant with Abraham, recorded in Genesis 12:1–3, contained two essential dimensions: supernatural provision and divine purpose.
“One part is supernatural provision. The other part is purpose. And the provision will not start till purpose begins,” he declared.
According to Dr. Ogbueli, believers seeking financial prosperity must first establish a strong spiritual foundation rather than concentrate exclusively on material possessions and business achievements.
He compared wealth creation to the growth of a tree, explaining that the invisible roots sustain the visible fruits. In his teaching, covenant relationships, commitment to God’s purpose and financial wisdom constitute the foundation of lasting prosperity.
“Kingdom wealth is covenant wealth,” he emphasised.
The minister further challenged Christian entrepreneurs to recognise that their businesses should advance God’s redemptive mission, rather than serve personal enrichment alone.
His message encouraged believers to rethink prosperity by connecting financial ambition with spiritual responsibility, kingdom service and purposeful living.
